Many tools are available to prepare and organize your 3D models on your printer’s plate with unmatched ergonomics and ease.
In addition to the standard tools, the Pro version offers the possibility of cutting your model into several pieces or simply taking measurements.

Settings, always settings?
Filament 3D printing is known to have many parameters that often need to be modified, and, as a bonus, they need to be adapted according to the object.
To simplify this operating method, Lychee Slicer offers a “Master Profile” and “Override Settings” concept specific to the 3D scene: Make your favorite settings once and for all in a Master profile and only modify, via the Override settings, those specific to your current scene. You will then keep your Master profile intact for future projects!
For example, your Master profile includes three wall outlines and a 20% infill, but you want to print your model faster? Just change the number of walls to 2 and the infill to 10% via an override. Your next model will be changed back to three outlines and a 20% infill!
Effortless Supports
You can use two automatic support solutions when your 3D models need them: either generated at the time of the path creation or ask Lychee Slicer to generate these supports in an editable way. You can then modify, delete or add them. Of course, you can add them manually wherever you want.
With the Pro version, you can use a 3D manipulator to change their properties, which is ideal for projects with more precise needs. As a bonus, you can paint their positions on the model or add entire rows directly with a few clicks.
Better understanding your 3D printing
To know your 3D printing better before launching the production is essential.
In addition to its famous “Banana for Scale” mode, which places you in an environment that helps you better apprehend its size, the Layer Thickness Preview mode displays the layers of your future print on the model.
When you use the clipping bar to see the slices of the model, you can see in real-time the thickness of the walls, but also the density of the infill.
For the display of the paths that your printer nozzle will follow, you will have the choice between two modes: speed or line type, with the option to display all the head movements and the filament retraction locations.
Finally, with the Pro version, use the Physical Scale mode to display your object on your screen at the same size it will be printed! No surprises for you before you start printing!

As an example, the advanced supports tool and the associated 3D manipulator, only available in Pro, allow more control over the support placement. On top of that, the Support Painting or the Support In-line tools will make complex support creation effortless.
If I downgrade to the Free version, will I still be able to open my previous files?
Yes! Lychee Slicer Free can still open files prepared with the Pro version. You can open the file you prepared with your Pro version, but you won’t have access to the Pro features anymore.
For example, your custom support placements or objects cut with the Planar Cut tool will still be there, but you won’t be able to edit them anymore.
