Lychee Slicer – Requirements
Lychee Slicer will work on most modern computers. Nonetheless, working with 3D models effectively and efficiently requires the right tools.
To get the most out of the Lychee Slicer application, a dedicated 3D graphics capability is recommended.
A “gaming” computer with a reasonable graphics card will work very well for Lychee Slicer.

System Requirements
Operating systems supported:
- Windows 8 – Windows 11 64 bit*
- Mac OS 10.13+
- Linux debian / appimage
Memory requirements:
- Minimum Memory: 8 Gb
- Recommended 16 Gb +
Screen resolution / graphic card:
- 1280×800 resolution monitor required
- 1920×1080+ / 4K recommended
- Graphics card with WebGL2 support
- Up-to-date graphics card drivers
*Windows 7 systems and 32-bit systems are not supported.
Additional Information
Lychee Slicer relies heavily on the graphics card in your computer; consequently, some laptops with shared memory rather than dedicated GPU memory, may encounter some slow down. In these cases slowdown may be noticed during the final slicing process.
Please keep in mind that preparing very high polygon count 3D models (large file sizes) can reduce the speed of the application. Depending on the scale of your model, these files can be a wasted use of resources for your computer and 3D Printer.
For example, a 100+ Mb STL file of a 28mm miniature is often a waste of memory/processing power as the microscopic detail and huge resolution from millions of extra polygons will not be reproduced by even the best 3D printers at that scale.
