This new major version, available as a Public Beta, includes updates to both the Lychee Resin and Beta Filament Slicers and is jam-packed with new features, bug fixes, and support for new Resin and Filament printers.

Public Betas are heavily tested, but some bugs and issues may remain as they introduce major changes. Do more regular saves of your scenes and backups of your parameters, even if we consider that it can be used in production. Please report your issues to our Discord official server.

• [Pro Resin] Grid Supports: You can now turn on Grid Supports and prepare your models more efficiently with better parenting and bracings. This feature will help you achieve a better support structure and print quality and save more resin.
  
• [Pro Resin] Bracing Editor: Access an advanced editor to create your bracing presets.
• [Pro Filament] Surface Ironing: Regular and fast ironing are available to produce smooth surfaces on flat surfaces.
• [Pro Filament] Boolean Tool: use objects or 3D models to create subtractions and/or additions performed during the slicing process.

This version is a major update from the previous 5.2 one that introduces multiple and massive speed improvements for supports manipulation/creation, startup speed and more. As usual, new 3D Printers have been added, and some bugs have been fixed like the support for 3D mouse.

• The selected object now has a white outline. This outline can be enabled or disabled in the View Cube options (gear icon)
• The overhang display can be swapped from the usual yellow and blue checker to a progressive red color. This option can be toggled on and off in the View Cube options (gear icon)
• You can now remove all the suction cup detections at once. Note: it will not fill the suction cups
• Every filament settings now have their own explanation image.
• The cloud notification system for updated 3D printer, resin, and filament settings has been updated. Notifications will pop up directly on your printer and printing settings, allowing you to choose whether to use the latest cloud settings or keep your parameters.
• Move tool has a new sub-palette to get access directly to all its sub-tools.
• The lift function has been added in the Move Tool sub-palette
• A new preference has been added to enable auto lift on import. It is disabled by default.
• Only the models with holes in their 3D structure will be displayed in red to avoid confusion. The Repair tool still displays all the structural issues, but without switching the models in red.
• The Projection Support border offset parameter is now linked to the Support preset to compute the best offset possible.

Working with 3D projects that have a lot of supports will be a lot faster compared to previous versions. Low-specification computers will also benefit from these improvements. Also, filament performances have been improved, by offering better surface quality and handling of large-size 3D models.

This new version of Lychee Slicer is in the continuity of our previous beta versions, with a lot of work done on improving the performance and overall stability of the application. As a result, it does not bring any new features, but you should see significant changes in terms of speed and responsiveness.

As a reminder, our new Anti Aliasing introduced in version 5.0 improves a lot the surface finishing of your resin 3D prints. However, it requires more resources. By default, the previous anti-aliasing is enabled, then please activate the HD mode to get the updated and high-quality anti-aliasing.

Friendly reminder: the auto-update will be enabled very soon; meanwhile, download our latest installer from the Download section of our website.

Reminder: The resin slicer is stable, and the Filament slicer is a Public beta.

• [Pro Resin] Paint Support and Inline Support tools now avoid existing holes
• [Pro Resin and Filament] The deletion speed of supports through the Support Painting tool (while pressing CTRL key) has been drastically improved

• [Pro Resin and Filament] Moving a support segment while being in Advanced mode now update the child supports connection
• Fixed models that were displayed as not fixed (red color) after reloading the scene have been fixed
• The Repair tool was not working when merging two models after using the Planar Cut tool. Note: doing this operation results in coplanar faces welded together on the connection of the two parts and that’s baaaaaad! Don’t do that at home!)
• The copy of fixed 3D models made them disappear. It was affecting the Arrange tool as well.
• Loading an STL or LYS file with the same name was not working
• Multiple loading scene fixes has been made
• The History notification now doesn’t automatically close when hovering some part of it

• [Pro Resin & Filament] Planar Cut tool, to cut 3D models in multiple parts, including selecting the cut-outs.
• [Pro Resin & Filament] Inline Support creation tool. Add multiple supports aligned along a line in two clicks.
• [Pro Resin & Filament] Split and Merge tools: Separate the 3D model shells into multiple 3D objects or merge a multiselection of objects into a single mesh.
• [Pro Resin] Suction Cup detector: Detects if your print has suction cups that could lead to a print failure. Then, after adding holes to avoid this effect, you can reanalyze your model to ensure there won’t be any suction cups.
• [Pro Resin] Support Presets: create and save your own support presets. No need to create them every time!
• [Pro Resin] Support Painting with max angle: define angles to ensure you don’t draw the sides or border of your model. This is helpful for bases or preventing you from crossing a border.
• [Pro / Premium / Free Resin] Anti-Aliasing has been enhanced and provides better results along the XY plane. Also it improves the Blur antialiasing option, which can be a good option for clean surfaces on models that don’t have tiny details. Name has been updated, Blur is now “Smooth Surfaces” and is the one by default. The former anti-aliasing has been renamed to “Sharpen Details”.

• [Resin/Filament] Auto Arrange tool now better considers the model’s shape and is more effective. Magic features take advantage of this feature.
• [Resin/Filament] The mirror tool is now in the World orientation and not anymore in the local one.
• [Resin/Filament] We speed up a lot of tools and processes, like the application startup, scene loading, auto arrange, supports bracing, and even the copy tool that had been sped up quite a lot in the previous update.
• [Resin] A lot of cleaning has been done in the Community Resin tool. We still have some cleaning to do, but we are in the process of providing you with a great tool to help you find the best parameters for your 3D printer and resin combo.
